We are a boutique travel company offering unique journeys throughout the African diaspora and beyond. Our trips are tailored to those that have a profound interest in the African diaspora in all its colors, flavors and rhythms.
Transcending borders with us, you will participate in direct actions of resistance towards mega tourism projects and support local businesses, families and communities. Our creative team has designed experiences that focus on the cultural identity of the places you visit.
Our Senior Tour Director and Founder of CrioYa Global Movement has worked with GAP adventures voted by National Geographic as “2008 BEST TOUR OPERATOR on EARTH” for over 18 months.
She lead trips between Mexico and Panama. With groups of travelers from Europe, England, Spain, Portugal, Norway, Sweden, in particular. Travelers also journeyed from the US, Canada, Australia and South Africa to enjoy Adventure travel.
Leslie was lucky to have the privilege to perfect her leading abilities with such colorful, energetic, adventurous travelers. With experience leading tours and experience traveling in groups since she was 15 years old, she decided to go forward with a life long dream of helping others travel and see they beauty of the world that she has been afforded the opportunity to do.
In her spare time, she is an experienced teacher of Spanish and English as a Second language, her experience has been in mostly urban, high needs commUnities with middle and high schoolers and private and group tutoring of adults. She is delighted to share her experiences and gifts with you.
Our tour leaders are hand selected, who are from the local region, who know and love their country and are passionate about Cultural Exchange and the environment. We choose a diverse group of leaders but they all share the personality traits of being energetic, adventurous, fluent in the local language and in English and have had much experience and training working with travelers like you.

Bocas del Toro is the capital of the Panamanian province of Bocas del Toro and the District of Bocas del Toro. It is a tourist friendly small town on the southern tip of Isla Colon in Bocas del Toro archipelago in the Caribbean Sea. There are several other small islands to explore nearby.
Islands and islets of the archipelago are accessible only by boat. Most visitors fly into the International Airport on Isla Colon from Costa Rica or Panama. Ferries connect Almirante to Bocas del Toro. Buses run between David, Almirante, Changuinola, and the border with Costa Rica.
Bocas del Toro is a popular tourist destination throughout the year. The city is sufficient for most places are within walking distance. The streets are arranged in a grid. Avenues running east to west and streets run north to south. Boat taxis are available to take you to other islands, easily.
Penkas is a guesthouse excited about sharing local culture and reforesting bocas. By staying with us at Penkas we will plant a tree in your name. We offer a guesthouse directly over the Caribbean sea for up to 10 guests. I'll send pics for this, I don't think I did already (only the website for browns house).
Our Jungle property is in Bastimentos and is a nice peaceful healing space for artists, couples and those interested in experiencing ocean views, jungle hikes, chocolate farm and beautiful beaches. Grateful Heart Healing Quilombo is connected to Jamie’s Butterfly garden and Abundance micro-farm where medicinal herbs are being nurtured along with trees that are growing for rainforest regeneration. One day, we hope to create a healing spa on the land. (I sent you some pics for this already)
